Queen Mary Series

The Queen Mary images began as studies in light and texture. When the buildings were soon to be demolished for seismic upgrading, I became interested in preserving a piece of my old elementary school. I enjoyed the challenge of evoking beauty out of what I always felt to be the relatively “ugly” structures of the Grey building and low rise Office Hall building. I also wanted to convey the lightness, fun and community that I know my children have experienced today at Queen Mary.
